WORLD MUSIC DAY 2019: OUR MANAGING CONSULTANT INVITED AS A GUEST ON CORRECT FM, ENUGU

21st June is World Music Year and the theme for the year is Music at it intersections. In honour of World Music Day 2019, our managing consultant, Amanda Uzoagba was invited as a guest on their morning show with Dikin to discuss the future of Music Industry in South-East & Nigeria as a whole.

Our managing consultant pointed out that if the mindset of the artistes “I must go to lagos to blow” doesn’t change then the music industry in the South-East will remain backwards and eventually die off one day.

When asked about other important players in the industry like producers and songwriters on how they are being mistreated and sometimes not even adequate credits that they deserve; she said that the time is coming when giving of creative credit will not be enough because these “key players” will also want a part of the royalties which the artistes are enjoying. Following up with her last comment, she pointed out that it is the reason why there is a need for producers and songwriters to have music publishing deals and also sign a split sheet agreement before any work begins.
