In this century where the likes of Taylor Swift suffer aftermath of doing business with a record label, one need to be careful when signing a recording contract or 360 record label contract. Taylor suffered the lose of masters to songs from her earlier albums as her original records were sold by the label after she left the label because they own rights over it. She had to record them so she can own the masters.

Reccording & Releasing your music under a record label means that they own the music & the righst to it. But what happens to the music when you leave the record label? Does the ownership of the music stay with the label or go with you?
It all depends on if your contract had a Reversion Clause or not.
A Reversion Clause is to state how long your music shall remain with the record label before it reverts back to you wholly. Without the existence of the clause in your contract, the record label will own music & have he right to do with it as they wish.
